The Hillside Community Center started as the Weaverville Colored School in 1926 and continues as a community center today. The center is in urgent need of repair/restoration.
A group of Weaverville residents are partnering with the Preservation Society of Asheville Buncombe to protect this structure in perpetuity and repair it to its original beauty.
In order to preserve the legacy of the children and families who attended the Weaverville Colored School and who continue to use the Community Center today, it will take all of our support.
